Happy New Year!!!

Dearest Parents & Students of Ignition,

Happy New Year! It has been a crazy 2010 and I look forward to 2011 with you and your family. I just wanted to take a look back on the year and celebrate what God has been doing in the ministry.

—————————————————————————————————————————

Looking back, I have seen His hand in many things that we have done. Ryan Ingram served Ignition for 3 amazing years and saw the ministry take off. As he left to be 100% with Awakening, the transition was seamless. Most major transitions in Youth Ministry is rough and we see a lot of drop off but there was none of that. Awakening is BOOMIN with Ryan’s attention focusing on college students.

We had some great “Grub Nights” for the students to get to know me. BRINNER was the best meal:)

The Blue Print Winter Camp was a great way to start the year. The video was good!

Small Groups kept truckin along. Drew Froese and I made a video that was “NOT COOL” but we thought it was cool. But we ended Small Groups with some amazing VIDEOS! WINNING Video!!!

We also had a great Senior Brazilian Breakfast and Bike Ride in Santa Cruz! Video:)

And then the NEW Freshman Class entered the building…wow! They are big, loud, crazy and some of the coolest freshmen in the world!

SUMMER SUMMER SUMMER! What a crazy summer Ignition had! We has some amazing interns! Caitlin Toews, Greg Larson and Katie Delgado made the summer run! They also DANCED? The summer started off with the Freshman Dinner. Then we went to Sky High Sports…most of you didn’t see this but Greg The Intern ripped his pants….VIDEO!!! We went to the beach and had tons of fun. The Trust Fall was a hit but Josh Osborn got The Trust Tackle! We had some fun Big Group Parties! And then there was Mexico…or FLEXICO…amazing trip! The Aztec was introduced:)We went to City Impact up in The City. We learned how to pray in the Tenderloin:) We got to see some students get baptized at the beach! The Urban Camping was a little weird but cool! And there was the FOOOOOOD FIGHT!!! Mike Buchanan was brave enough to take pics!!! Through out the summer we studied Colossians and saw God do some amazing things through the book! All in all, great summer!

We took a little break…

Small Groups started with the Oscar’s! We made some sweet videos and the students ROCKED their videos! Check out our BUMPERS!

Justin Beiber made a guest appearance! VIDEO!

Small Groups started strong and almost 100 High School Students signed up to be in community!

We got to serve Elm Street like mad this last year! We ended the year serving them Thanksgiving Dinner! We had over 40 parents and students serve! SWEET!

Mall Hunt was crazy! Valley Fair wanted to kick us out but we kept on having fun!

A whole lotta UGLY SWEATERS at our Christmas Party!

It’s also been pretty cool working along side Christina Papoulias. I sometimes give her a hard time and make her cry but to serve alongside someone so passionate about Jesus and students! I am blessed to be able to serve with her.

—————————————————————————————————————————

I have to say that we had an EPIC year at Ignition. We are just a small but BIG part of WestGate Church and blessed to sit under some amazing pastors and leaders!

I have to give a BIG BIG BIG shout out to all of our LEADERS that have served in 2010! They are the power and energy that has made this Ignition Ship move! God has totally blessed us with great adult leaders that Love Jesus and Love Students!

Please, Parents, if you are not involved in Parent Prayer, get involved. There is power in prayer!

I am excited for 2011 and what God has in store for Ignition, students, families and our leaders. Please PRAY that we rely on God to empower us to keep this ship going. We have some great things planned for Ignition and your students! PRAY that we stay sensitive to His voice and His leading…

Thank you for everything and all your support! I am blessed to be here at WestGate Church serving and leading! Amazing community!

LOVE ALWAYS<3

Flexico…WOW!

We are back and changed forever! God did some amazing things through our team and we give Him all the Glory! Let me tell you how the week went:)

We left San Jose bright and early at 5:30am! We were making great time and didn’t stop for the first 2.5 hrs…pretty good with all the ladies we had on the team! As we came over the Grape Vine…the Burb broke down. The team rolled with the punches and made the best of the time. All of the leaders had contacts in Santa Clarita that lent a helping hand…thanks! Grace Baptist Church opened their doors up to us and loved on our team! Thanks to David Hegg, RJ Holt, Deb Bahr & Rick and Carla Llamas! WestGate Church also hooked us up with some extra cash for a rental…thanks GO Board!

The team agreed, we were excited for Mexico but after the Burb broke down, we were ready for Mexico! Amazing! We had a great breakfast and made it into Mexico! A day late but all in His timing:)

We got to Rancho De Sus Nino’s and we were all ready to eat! We missed church in the morning but had our own time with Jesus!

The team worked hard in the AM laying a foundation for the future Day Car where children are learning about Jesus as their parents work their coolo’s off!. There are no cement trucks rolling through so you have to make the piles on the floor. After 3 sands, 2 rocks, 2 bags of cement and water, the piles had to travel up a hill!!! YEAH, the team worked well together and they worked hard!

VBC was fun! We had the chance to tell the story of David and Goliath! The whole team acted the story out…pretty funny! Memory verse was – …“You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty… 1 Samuel 17:45. Great time playing and loving the kids!

They loved our team! Good times after VBC with games, water balloons and tackling!

Devotion Time we had the chance to S.O.A.P. through Ephesians! God showed us amazing things throughout the week in His word!

We also went to Rancho’s Day Care! This is a place where parents that work can drop their kids off for the day and know they are well taken care of. Rancho saw a great need for this service as parents were locking their kids in their homes for the entire day. This is much safer and they get Jesus at the same time!

The team had the great privilege to to be a part of The Trailer! This is a church on wheels. Inside the trailer there are chairs, sound equipment and a whole lotta love! Rancho drives up, sets up shop, passes out flyers, plays futbol, plays games, gives testimonies, invites people to follow Him and they sit back and watch as the Lord does what He wants! We got to see all these people come to Christ! AMEN!

Foundation #1 was complete, now onto the beginning of a retaining wall. These were some of the men that worked hard and the wheel barrels that worked as hard as we did!

Some Local Art:)

La Roca is there Youth Center where Rancho provides a safe place for kids of all ages to play and be kids! We played games, colored, played Twister, gave some testimonies and had a great time! Just adding to their ministry and encouraging them as they serve!

An early morning hike to the Cross paved way for an awesome day! We had the chance to reflect, sweat and pray together looking over Rancho!

Some of the men on the trip ready for church! Ready to be rocked by Jesus and His love as Mike shared from his heart and John 10:10.

We are unified BECAUSE of Christ! We are changed forever BECAUSE of His unfailing love! We are connected BECAUSE we have seen how God can transform lives! Thank you to everyone that prayed for the team as We Served and Jesus Saved! We are here for Him and we give Him ALL the glory! But your prayers were heard and answered…thanks!
